Selections include camps focused on a full range of summer outdoor activities, with locations from Marin to Maine, and to the Mendocino redwoods on up to the high Sierras. These listings are intended to provide a brief summary of each camp's activities, their dates of operation, the minimum and maximun ages for attendees, location and costs. Full information can be obtained at each camp's own web site or by phone. Be sure to book early as many camps tend to fill up quickly. Some also offer sibling discounts, as well as discounts for early registration.

Camp Wekeela

Camp Wekeela is a premiere coed sleepaway camp in the beautiful state of Maine—a safe, fun, nurturing environment in a bucolic mountain lake setting. Core components include water skiing, tennis, outdoor adventure, land and water sports, creative, performing and culinary arts. An Outdoor Adventure tripping program also offered. Campers may climb Mt. Katahdin, navigate the rapids of the Kennebec River or camp out under the infinite Maine starlit sky. Teen campers discover places such Montreal, Cape Cod, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor or Boston! Kindness is one of the most important things we all emphasize at camp. Wekeela creates strong loyal bonds. Our campers become family.

Warning... At Camp Wekeela you may enjoy yourself beyond all comprehension. We cannot be held responsible if you end up returning year after year after year after year after year.... but we will understand because we are all back for another summer.

WHERE: A 60-acre scenic mountain lake setting at 1750 Bear Pond Rd, Hartford, Maine

WHEN: Weekly sessions beginning June 23-August 11

AGES: Boys and girls ages 7-16: Kid campers entering grades 2-7; Teen campers entering grades 8-10

ACTIVITIES: Wekeela Extreme Sports Zone includes a State-of-the-Art climbing wall. Other activities are Water skiing, tennis, outdoor adventure, land and water sports, and creative arts that include ceramics, painting, batik, drawing, tie dye, culinary arts, pottery wheels, light wood-working, model rocketry, digital photography, jewelry-making, astronomy, stained glass, cartooning, scrapbooking.

Performing Arts include musical, theatre, set design, voice, dance, cheerleading, improv, radio, video, electric and acoustic guitars, piano, drums and more!

Camp Winnarainbow

Image from Camp WinnaRainbowOur performance philosophy emphasizes taking risks in a physically and emotionally safe environment. Drawing from the world of circus and theatrical arts, we teach timing, balance, and a sense of humor. We honor the creative spirit of each child in an atmosphere of approval and mutual encouragement. Our camp is situated on a beautiful lake with a 350-foot water slide; campers are lodged in canvas tepees.

There is a final show for parents and friends on the last day of every two-week session.

WHERE: Camp Winnarainbow is nestled in a forested area of beautiful Mendocino County in Laytonville, an approximate 3 hour drive north of San Francisco on Highway 101.

Gold Arrow Camp

Celebrating 84 years of tradition, friendship, and fun! Enjoy rustic living, nightly campfires, and over 20 non-competitive water sports and traditional activities, in an electronics-free environment at a beautiful lakeside setting.

Mountain Camp

Mountain Camp is a private, traditional, coed, resident camp founded in 1966 and accredited by the American Camp Association. Mountain Camp provides a magical outdoor setting where campers unplug, make friends, try new activities and make memories that last the rest of their lives. This summer, join more than 500 other Marin families who are already sending their kids to Mountain Camp.

WHERE: We are located near Lake Tahoe on a beautiful high sierra lake in the Eldorado National Forest. For convenience, we offer charter bus service from Larkspur Landing.

Mountain Meadow Ranch Summer Camp

Mountain Meadow is a traditional, co-ed summer camp in the classic sense, where longer sessions and limited enrollment allow for a more personal camp experience in a familial and welcoming environment. Plantation Farm Camp

Plantation Farm Camp is a private, traditional, coed, over-night camp founded in 1952 and accredited by the American Camp Association. In this rustic, farm based setting, campers unplug, make friends, try new activities and make memories that last the rest of their lives. Walton's Grizzly Lodge

Located on a private lake in Northern California, Walton’s Grizzly Lodge provides the idyllic sleep-away summer camp setting. Campers choose daily from over 40 activities.
