Our story about Camp Winnarainbow

By Terziev Thelin, grade 6, Marin Waldorf Schoo

“Toward the fun”— that’s the motto of Camp Winnarainbow. The camp encourages individuality and acceptance of others. My first year sleeping in a tipi I was nervous at first. People were starting to arrive, and I had already chosen my spot and laid out my things in my new home for two weeks, Green Tipi. A girl came in and started talking to me while choosing and setting up her spot. After a while I felt that she was going to be a good, kind and helpful friend and knew it wouldn’t be hard to make many others. I asked if she wanted to move next to me and she did.

As the session went on, we went to gymnastics, aerials, art, tightrope, juggling, and much more together. It is a friendship I’ll never forget. Sometimes during free time we would go to the lake. We’d swim, jump off the dock and platform and go on the waterslide along with many other friends. Camp Winnarainbow I’ve made tons of new friends and have learned a lot of new circus skills. Camp Winnarainbow is a relaxed and fun time and I never wanted to leave!
