Regina George, The Plastics’ flaw-free ringleader, expresses her true self with a slogan emblazoned across the tee shirt she wears like a second skin: “A little bit dramatic.” In Mean Girls, book writer Tina Fey delves into the seemingly marvelous life of the infamous Regina and her posse, making packed audiences at the August Wilson Theatre laugh and cheer—even if Regina’s “marvelous life” comes down to a whole lotta pink, a whole lotta makeup, a whole lotta plastic and a whole lotta drama.

Back for their fourth year at BottleRock Napa Valley Music Festival, Moonalice appear quite comfortable as they walk into the Media Lounge. Taking seats in front of an eager crowd of reporters and photographers, band members Roger McNamee, Pete Sears, Barry Sless and John Molo joke about whether or not they’ll be invited back next year, though they have remained one of the few constants of a festival that has changed significantly from year to year. The psychedelic, roots-rock band Moonalice was birthed in the Bay Area in 2007, the brainchild of producer T Bone Burnett, and has been a welcome presence in the Bay Area in its 9 years of improvisation at venues such as Sweetwater Music Hall and festivals such as Hardly Strictly.

Image of the stage set at the Bottlerock Napa Valley 2015 festival In its third year, the inaugural BottleRock Napa Valley has made quite the name for itself as one of Northern California’s biggest and well-known music festivals. Attracting 100,000 festival-goers of all ages, this year’s sold out festival welcomed acts such as Imagine Dragons, Cage the Elephant, Public Enemy, Robert Plant and No Doubt. In addition to the variety of music, the culinary side of the festival introduced a vast array of local restaurants, also providing the opportunity for chefs to showcase their musical talent on the Culinary Stage alongside artists such as Imagine Dragons and Snoop Dogg.
