FEATURE INTERVIEW
By Jake Carroll, Junior, Branson School
“Iam a 16-year-old boy. As such, it is more or less my occupation to deal with 16-year-old girls. Saoirse Ronan, star of the new feature film, Hanna is no ordinary 16- year-old, although at first it may seem like it: meticulous haircut, designer jeans and an artsy Beetles t-shirt. However, after we began talking, it was clear that this girl had more in her life than just wails, nails and prom dates. I recently had the unique opportunity to interview her along with Hanna Director Joe Wright.
Wright and Ronan ditched the silly "table" they were sitting at in favor for a very comfy couch. "Come sit down," Ronan began, "we don’t bite." I sandwiched myself between a beautiful actress and a veteran director. Wait, this was an interview? It did indeed turn out to be an informative interview, both Ronan and Wright answering questions thoughtfully, providing insight into the interworking of the film.
Joe Wright’s laid-back, understated style did not conceal the creative and innovative forces that whirl within him like a ferris wheel caught in a tornado.
